Acceptable Use Policy

# Acceptable Use Policy *Draft for attorney review. Effective \[Effective Date\]. Version 1. Part of the Terms of Service.* Impact Story exists to share real stories, told by the people who lived them, with their permission. This policy applies to every organization and person using the service. ## Real stories only - No fabricated, composite or exaggerated testimonials, and no stories told on someone else's behalf as if they were the storyteller. - Don't coach a storyteller to say things that aren't true to their experience, or offer payment or benefits in exchange for a particular story. - Don't edit, caption or present a story so that it changes what the storyteller meant. - Disclose any material connection between the storyteller and your organization, such as staff or paid roles, where the story is used to promote or raise money. ## Consent and age - Every story must go through the service's consent flow, and you may use it only within the consent given. - Don't invite or record anyone under 18, or submit a story told by someone under 18. - Don't pressure anyone to share, and make clear that saying no won't affect their membership or services. - Honor narrowed consent and removal requests promptly, including the 10-business-day deadline for channels you control. ## Other people's privacy and rights - Don't upload photos you don't have the right to use, or photos of people who would object to being shown. - Don't publish other people's private information, such as phone numbers, addresses, medical details or immigration status, without their permission. - Don't upload music, video or images owned by others; use only music provided in the service. ## Prohibited content - Sexual content, and any intimate image shared without consent. - Anything that sexualizes or endangers a minor. - Harassment, threats, hate based on protected characteristics, or content that encourages violence or self-harm. - Content that is illegal, defamatory, or infringes someone's rights. ## Prohibited uses - Impersonating a person or organization, or creating synthetic voices or likenesses of anyone. Voice cloning isn't offered. - Removing or hiding the "Narrated by AI" label or other required disclosures. - Sending spam or unsolicited bulk invites to people with no relationship to your organization. - Scraping, reverse engineering, overloading or trying to bypass the service's security, limits or tenant boundaries. - Reselling the service, or using it to build a competing product. ## Enforcement We may remove content, pause publishing or suspend accounts that break this policy, and we'll tell you why where we can.
